This one is for the dirt-bikers and off-roaders.
We will be dedicating a permanent plaque for Garrett at the “Husky Monument” in the off-road riding area off CA Hwy 395 north of Kramer Junction (northwest of Barstow).
**Arriving mid-day Saturday, March 13 (1:00ish)**
HUSKY MONUMENT
FREMONT PEAK ROAD exit off Hwy 395.
Fremont Peak Road is ~13.5 miles north on Hwy 395 from Kramer Junction/”4 Corners”/intersection of Hwys 395/58.
Camping area is ~1 mile from 395.

“Husky Monument” can be searched, but in short, it is an area that began in the 1980’s when a group created a tribute to a fellow rider by setting his Husqvarna “Husky” dirt-bike in concrete in the middle of the desert. Since then, the area has grown to memorialize many other avid riders who have been lost to loved ones.

As usual, please feel free to share a thought, feelings, anecdote, condolence, etc below.

  2. We miss Mr. Garret’s contagious smile😃. His whole face lit up when he smiled. The excitement he would have going out to the races looking forward to riding with all his Glen Helen friends & the SRA crew . And especially with Mr. Greg as he called him & our pups. I must not forget stopping at In n Out after every race on the way home so he could have animal style fries. Good memories. Love & Miss you Garret.
